No. 4 Prison of Hebei

(Beijiao Prison, Shijiazhuang City)

Shijiangzhuang No. 4 Prison in Hebei, also named as Shijiazhuang North Suburban Prison, merged with Shijiazhuang Prison in October 2017. Located in Qiaodong District, Shijiazhuang City, this location can be considered a maximum security prison.

Torture methods used in this prison to persecute Falun Gong practitioners mainly include electric torture, confinement, sleep deprivation, ice-water torture, hanging by handcuffs, force-feeding by inserting a 4cm-diameter tube into the nostrils, instigating the inmates to violently beat practitioners, and even deceiving families of Falun Gong practitioners to torture them mentally.


Featured Prisoners of Conscience

During the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Shi Yanwu was confined in a small isolated cell for over two months while being shackled. He was also violently beaten, forced to do slave labor, not allowed to take breaks, shocked with electric batons and suffered ice-water torture.

Many practitioners were tortured to death in this prison, including Mr. Wang Shujun, Mr. Yang Xiaojie, and Mr. Han Weixin.
