Chinese New Year Greetings Pour in to Falun Gong Founder from Around the World

As the Chinese New Year approaches, heartfelt greetings have once again arrived from Falun Gong practitioners and supporters across the globe, expressing gratitude and New Year wishes to Mr. Li Hongzhi, founder of Falun Gong (Falun Dafa). Feb. 17, 2026 marks the first day of the Chinese New Year.

Greetings from outside China

Introduced in China in 1992, Falun Gong is now practiced in more than 100 countries. From Europe to North America, Asia to Australia, practitioners have commemorated the holiday through parades, group exercises, and community events, sharing photos and videos to convey their appreciation.

Many also submitted calligraphy, paintings, e-cards, poems, and more to Minghui.org, a website which documents the persecution and Falun Gong practitioners’ experiences from a network of contacts in China and abroad.

Alex, a maritime cargo inspector originally from Austria and now living in Hamburg, Germany, said he found inner peace after beginning the practice in 2000. He wrote,

“There aren’t enough words to thank Master. What Master has done cannot be expressed simply by the word ‘gratitude.’ What he has done is far beyond the scope of gratitude.”

These greetings highlight the growing global reach of Falun Gong, even after over 26 years of persecution by the Chinese Communist Party.

Greetings from Mainland China

A substantial number of greetings were sent from mainland China, representing every province, municipality, and autonomous region. Under the ongoing persecution by the Chinese Communist Party, submitting such messages carries significant personal risk, as accessing banned websites requires internet-circumvention tools and may result in detention.

Despite more than 26 years of suppression, the volume and diversity of the messages underscore the practice’s resilience, as well as its profound impact on many Chinese people’s lives.

Practitioners currently detained in China’s prisons, detention centers, and brainwashing centers also found ways to send New Year wishes. Many wrote that, despite confinement, their faith in Falun Dafa remains steadfast and they will continue to uphold its principles.

Young practitioners also conveyed their respect and determination to cultivate diligently.

A second-grade student from Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region wrote,

“I have studied the Fa since I was a child. I conduct myself according to the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. I don’t hit back when I am hit and don’t talk back when I am cursed. My teachers and classmates like me…I hope to one day join Shen Yun Performing Arts.”

In addition to practitioners, non-practitioners sent greetings as well. Some described personal recoveries and positive changes after supporting family members who practice or reciting phrases such as “Falun Dafa is good.”

An elderly man from Nanchong City, Sichuan Province, wrote,

“My wife is a Falun Dafa practitioner. I support her and I’m also blessed. Through reciting the phrases, ‘Falun Dafa is good’ as well as ‘Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,’ I recovered from a stroke. Although I’m in my 80s, I am still able to ride a tricycle like a young man. Thank you, Master Li!”

As the Lunar New Year begins, these messages reflect enduring faith, gratitude, and the continued global presence of Falun Dafa.
