UNITED NATIONS REPORT CITES ORGAN HARVESTING ATROCITIES IN CHINA
The United Nations Special Rapporteur on torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treament or punishment recently issued a report to the UN’s Human Rights Council. Contained in the report are details concerning the practice in China of killing Falun Gong practitioners in order to sell their vital organs. The UN report states: “Organ harvesting has been inflicted on a large number of unwilling Falun Gong practitioners at a wide variety of locations… The practitioners were given injections to induce heart failure, and therefore were killed in the course of the organ harvesting operations or immediately thereafter. It is reported that employees of the following transplant centres have indicated that they have used organs from live Falun Gong practitioners for transplants: Zhongshan Hospital Organ Transplant Clinic in Shanghai, Qianfoshan City Liver Transplant Hospital in Shangdong, Nanning City Minzu Hospital in Guangxi Autonomous Region, Jiaotong University Liver Transplant Centre in Shanghai, Zhengzhou Medical University Organ Transplant Centre in Henan, Oriental Organ Transplant Centre in Tianjin City, Tongji Hospital in Wuhan City in Hunan and General Hospital of Guangzhou Military Regional in Guangdong. After the organs were removed, the bodies were cremated, and no corpse is left to examine for identification as the source of an organ transplant. Once the organs were removed they were shipped to transplant centres to be used for transplants for both domestic and foreign patients.”

HORRIBLY EMACIATED, FALUN GONG MAN DIES FROM PROLONGED TORTURE
Fifty-six-year-old Mr. Luan Fusheng was from Shijiazhuang, Shanxi province, and used to work in the Shanxi government. Between 1999 and 2002, Luan was detained on several occasions by Chinese police, forcing him to flee his home to avoid further persecution from local authorities. On October 2002, Luan was arrested for printing leaflets that disclose details of the Chinese regime’s violent campaign against Falun Gong. In July 2003, Luan was sentenced to 11 years in prison. According to sources familiar with Luan’s case, he was repeatedly tortured while imprisoned and his health deteriorated rapidly. These sources say that by February 2006, Luan looked like a skeleton, both his legs were severely swollen, and merely talking made it hard for him to breathe (photos taken shortly after Luan’s death confirm his condition). According to Luan’s family members, repeated appeals to grant Luan medical parole were denied, with police reportedly telling the family members, “Falun Gong practitioners are not eligible for medical parole.” On the March 21st, 2007 and on the verge of death, Luan was released to his family. He died 19 days later on April 9th, 2007.

FALUN GONG WIDOW RECEIVES HUMANITARIAN AWARD
On May 3, 2007, the Australian Altruism Foundation, headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, issued its annual Humanitarian Award for 2006 to Ms. Jane (Zhizhen) Dai and her daughter, Fadu Chen. The award commends them for their courage and spirit in travelling to 45 countries around the world over the past several years to raise awareness about the ongoing imprisonment, torture, and killing of Falun Gong practitioners in China. Dai’s husband was tortured to death by Chinese police in 2001, just weeks after Fadu was born. Speaking to a crowd of over 200 at the award ceremony, Dai said, “There are many many families, and many many kids, who suffered the same as what my daughter has suffered. But they don’t get a chance to speak out. I took my daughter and traveled around the world. I decided to let the entire world know about my husband’s death due to the CCP’s persecution.”
