The unexpected popularity \nand its advocacy of ancient virtues that the regime had spent much \neffort to replace with communist ideology, eventually triggered the \nunprecedented suppression that continues up to today.\n\n\n\nEach\n year around the anniversary of the persecution, dubbed one of the \n\u201csensitive dates\u201d by the regime, authorities often ramp up arrests and \nharassment of Falun Gong practitioners in their attempt to silence the \npractitioners from speaking out for their persecuted faith.\n\n\n\nAccording\n to available information, the targeted practitioners this July come \nfrom 27 provinces and centrally-controlled municipalities.
