What does Falun Gong look like out in the world, then, as it is lived out? Where is it to be found, and in what forms? And has it changed much over the years or in different settings?
For Carrie Dobson, simply climbing out of bed was a struggle. Much less getting dressed, or making it through the day. Half her body had lost sensation...but as fate would have it, Dobson’s solution was right in her own backyard—or park, as it turned out. And it didn’t cost a cent.
Thousands of Falun Gong practitioners will join a parade, live performances and other festivities throughout New York City this weekend to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Falun Gong's public introduction. Many will also hold vigils outside the Chinese consulate on 42nd Street, in protest of the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong practitioners inside China.
Over 6,000 Falun Dafa practitioners in Dalian, China were surveyed. All reported significant health improvement. Of those with one or more medical conditions, over 99.8% reported improvements. Symptoms either improved or totally disappeared. Both mental and physical functions and quality of life improved dramatically. Even the aging process slowed down.
Often in the news but rarely understood, Falun Gong is regularly associated with Chinese human rights issues. Leeshai Lemish gives his understanding of what Falun Gong practitioners actually believe.
“I get asked many questions, like ‘Why are you practicing this? [I tell them] Falun Gong has no color. It goes across the spectrum of all people, of all races. It allows you to come to a point in life where you really know who you are. And that has no color whatsoever.”
In as many as 70 or more countries this weekend, followers and supporters of Falun Dafa will gather to commemorate May 13 as “Falun Dafa Day,” the Falun Dafa Information Center announced Friday.
